Viridian City

A spacious low-rise town laid out around water, famous for being green in every season. Wide paved plazas of pale grey slabs run between buildings with white stucco walls and shallow roofs in blue, green and red tile. A broad ornamental pond occupies the centre, edged in cut stone, its surface flat enough to mirror the rooftops. Mature broadleaf trees grow straight out of the paving in square planting beds, their canopies meeting overhead to shade the main street. On the western edge stands a heavier building of dark dressed stone with a stepped roof and shuttered windows, closed and unused for years, moss creeping along its lower courses. Clipped hedges and trimmed lawns fill the gaps between structures. A gravel path leads north into the treeline where the forest begins. The mountains sit low and blue on the northern horizon. Everything is neat, watered and slightly overgrown at the edges.
