Trainer ranks
The two rank tracks in your Trainer Hub, what moves them, and where they show.
In short
- Popularity counts battles fought. Reputation is your win rate.
- Wild, trainer and gym battles count. Player battles count for neither.
- Ranks are titles on your profile and the leaderboards. They do not gate anything.
Popularity
Every wild, trainer and gym battle you finish adds one, win or lose.
| Rank | Battles |
|---|---|
| Newbie | 0 |
| Beginner | 50 |
| Trainer | 200 |
| Experienced | 500 |
| Veteran | 1,000 |
| Expert | 2,500 |
| Master | 5,000 |
| Legend | 10,000 |
Reputation
Your wins as a percentage of your battles.
| Rank | Win rate |
|---|---|
| Rookie | under 30% |
| Average | 30% |
| Good | 50% |
| Great | 70% |
| Elite | 85% |
| Champion | 95% |
Fleeing a wild battle is not a loss, and a wild Pokemon that faints you is. Gym losses count the same as any other.
Where ranks show
Your Trainer Hub shows both tracks with the progress to the next title, your battle record, the Pokédex count and your badges. Your public profile shows the titles. The site's leaderboards rank players by Pokédex completion, battles won, Pokemon caught and shiny Pokemon, and are open to anyone. To keep your name off them, switch off Show me on public leaderboards in Settings.
Ranks are a record, not a key. Nothing in the game refuses you for a rank, and nothing opens for one.
