Pokemon Tower

A tall memorial tower of pale weathered stone standing alone above the rooftops, seven storeys of it, square in plan and tapering slightly as it rises. Each level is marked by a projecting cornice and a band of tall narrow arched openings, dark and unglazed. The stonework is stained with long grey water runs and blotched with lichen on the weather side. A steep flight of stone steps climbs to the single arched entrance at the base, flanked by low walls. The roof is a shallow pyramid of dark tile with a plain finial. Ivy has taken the lower two storeys on one side and is working upward. The surrounding ground is a walled plot of clipped grass and gravel walks. Cold air spills from the entrance arch. The tower reads as wholly out of scale with the small town beneath it. Cloud moves fast behind the upper levels.
