Storage and the PC
The box grid, how Pokemon are placed, what the party limits are, and how to find one Pokemon among hundreds.
In short
- The PC is inside any Pokemon Centre. 32 boxes of 30 slots: 960 Pokemon.
- A new catch goes to the party if there is room, otherwise to the first free slot.
- Your party holds one to six. You can never deposit the last one.
- Search every box at once by name; do not page through them.
Where it is
Walk into a Pokemon Centre and open the PC. Storage is tied to the building: you cannot deposit or withdraw out on a route. You can reorder your party anywhere, though, from the Team screen's Reorder toggle, because you need to be able to set a lead before a battle.

Moving Pokemon
Tap a Pokemon to pick it up, then tap where you want it: a box slot, or a party slot. Tapping an occupied slot swaps the two. Pick up from the party and drop into a box to deposit; pick up from a box and drop into the party to withdraw, if the party has room.

The party holds six. It must hold at least one: the last member cannot be deposited, though it can be swapped for a boxed Pokemon, because a swap keeps the party the same size. That floor is also what keeps a wipe recoverable.
Where new Pokemon go
A catch, a hatched Egg or a gift joins the party if it has fewer than six, and otherwise takes the lowest empty slot, scanning the boxes in order. Withdrawals leave a gap and the next arrival fills it, so boxes stay dense without you tidying them. If all 960 slots are full, a catch is still yours; it waits unfiled until you make room.
Finding one
Several hundred Pokemon do not fit in a head. The search box queries every box at once by nickname or species, with filters for type and for shinies, and returns up to sixty matches. Type four letters and pick.

Sorting is per box and permanent: tidy closes the gaps, and the other orders rearrange the box outright. There is no undo and no sort across boxes.
What a boxed Pokemon does
Nothing. It gains no experience, it does not heal, and it keeps whatever status it went in with. The gym picker reads from the party and the boxes, so a Pokemon in a box can still be picked for a gym challenge; breeding and the Train tab read the party only.
