Pokemon Centres and healing

What the nurse charges, what is free, what else the Centre does, and what happens when your team goes down.

In short

The price

cost = every missing HP point + every missing PP point, across the whole party

One PokeDollar each. A party that has lost 240 HP and 30 PP between them is a bill of 270. A Pokemon at zero is missing all of its HP, so a wipe of a level-50 team is several hundred. Nothing is charged for a burn, a poison or a sleep; those clear as part of the heal. The nurse quotes the price before anything happens, and refuses outright if you cannot pay it rather than healing part of the team.

The price of a heal
Asked to heal, Nurse Joy names the price first

The infirmary at the High Monastery, up in the mountains, heals at half price.

What else is in the building

The PC. Storage is only reachable inside a Centre. Deposit, withdraw, search and sort from the terminal; the storage guide covers it.

Inside Terapagossa's Pokemon Centre
1 Nurse Joy, 2 the way back out to the town
Talking to Nurse Joy
1 heal, 2 the PC, 3 breeding

Breeding. The Centre is where two of your party Pokemon make an Egg, for a fee set by the Egg's potential. The breeding guide covers it.

The Brotherhood. The Healers who run every Centre are older than the League and treat every trainer's Pokemon. They are the one faction nobody in Horos argues with.

Blacking out

When your last Pokemon faints in a wild or trainer battle, you wake up inside the last Pokemon Centre you walked into, with the whole team healed and nothing charged. No money is lost. The cost is the walk back to wherever you were, which on a long route is the real penalty.

That free heal is deliberately the only free one. It exists so that a trainer with no money and a fainted team can always recover; it is not a way to save on healing, because it also puts you back at the Centre.

Healing in the field

The Bag holds Potions, status cures, Revives and Ethers, usable anywhere outside a player battle, including mid-fight. A Full Heal cures any status; a Full Restore does that and fills the bar. Chesto, Lum and Sitrus Berries held by the Pokemon fire on their own when the moment comes.
